Style and Technique Lab. Gain a foundation of West African Dance style and skill for the stage, while commanding the head-to-toe demands of dance performance.

Dances of the Royal Malinke Empire. Malena focuses exclusively on the regal dances of the ancient West African Kingdom of Mali and Guinea, such as the powerful Soko, Mendiani, and Lamban. Students will learn how to channel the chaos of passion and transform it into powerful and magical African dance movement.
